Babe in Colorado

Babe 1994-2007

Dear friends of Babe:

Babe died peacefully this morning at about 9 am, at home, of natural causes and old age.  We were blessed that she did not have a horrible terminal illness that required that she spend time at the vet's and me having to make "that" decision away from home.   She was lucid up until about 5 am and then went into a coma.  As I was arranging to take her to emergency this morning for euthanasia (a holiday of course), she slipped away quietly in her bed in her special corner of my bedroom that she claimed nearly 10 years ago when she arrived here from Colorado.

Only 24 hours ago, after she had been having some really good days, on Monday she joined Rocky and Megan for "training" which she loved, barked at me talking to my birds, ate toast crust at breakfast and did all the normal things she liked to do.  So her passing was sudden and uneventful, I imagine the way we'd all want for ourselves and our dogs.

Thanks to all for being her friend over the years and joining in the great adventure that she provided us. Special thanks to Lisa King for rescuing her and sending her out to me.  What a wonderful journey it was.

Cathy
