Welcome to the world of positive reinforcement dog training!

In the past dozen years, the world of dog training has undergone a marvelous revolution.  As the scientifically based learning theory has permeated all kinds of animal training, we now are able to reach new heights in training but more importantly in our very relationships with our dogs.  We owe Marian and Bob Bailey, Karen Pryor, Ian Dunbar, and Gary Wilkes much for their role in this transformation and many trainers who followed, including Morgan Spector, Pat Miller, Melissa Alexander, and Susan Garrett (to name just a few who have influenced me) for translating this method for dog trainers.

The Association of Pet Dog Trainers was formed in 1993 to promote these new techniques into every day dog training.

The R+ Dog Training web site http://r-plusdogtraining.info provides information on positive reinforcement training of dogs and other animals.  This site is meant to be a resource on this method of dog training for both beginning and experienced trainers.
